THOUGHTS OF CHRIS WILLIAM ABOUT MANKIND

Hey everyone! I am Chris Williams from Lafayette, LA, and today I will be sharing a couple of things with you that I personally feel about mankind and the drastic change that has come in it over the period of time.

I am a Ph.D. holder in Philosophy so I know the mentality of humans and thankfully I not only have the bookish knowledge but also have gained a lot of personal experience where I can apply what I have learned in my academic institutions. Let me first talk about the topic which is one of the most common subjects these days and that is social media.

How social media has impacted mankind?

Social media is great and in no way I, Chris Williams from Lafayette, LA, am denying that. In fact, I also enjoy working on LinkedIn but when I look at this generation’s heads inside their cell phone, I have a feeling of pity. People say that social media is connecting the entire world and it is doing that but at the same time, it is not letting people live in the moment. I am from a generation where we didn’t have any cell phones so I know the beauty of living in the moment and appreciating what is around you rather than knowing what is going on the other side of the world. It is good to update yourself but not in this way for sure.

How the education system has changed people?

This might be harsh but today’s education system is all about scores and that’s why people are running behind books rather than learning. Top universities like Harvard are still preferring the people who are having knowledge of the field they want to go to. Obviously, scores matter over there but more than that, what the student actually knows matters the most and that’s why such universities are giving amazing people to the world. However, most of the other educational institutes are focusing on grades. Is it something right? Ask yourself.

Has politics also affected us?

To be very honest, we all know the answer to this question. Politics has impacted the entire world in both negative as well as positive ways. I have seen some people fighting with their colleagues on political topics. And unfortunately, I have encountered very few situations where I have seen having a healthy and decent conversation about the political system.

What to be done?

The problem is not in these advancements made by humans but the issue is in the mentally of people. It is we giving freedom to technology and advancement to dominate our thought process and that’s why it has gotten so important for us to have control over ourselves.

I, Chris Williams from Lafayette, LA, personally love to spend time with my friends and family and try to learn something new every day because I know that these are the things that last long. My suggestion to everyone would be to just focus on yourself rather than scrolling your timeline and looking at other people’s pictures.
